Something worth working with?
Another of the problem dandelion multi-plates ( made at the
same time as yesterday’s plate) which didn’t become multi-plates because I
still had some very basic things to learn. This is less effective on its own,
but again I wonder if there are ways in which this is useable on its own. Something
to play with in the future perhaps.

When is a print a print?
Sometimes it’s hard to know when something is a complete
print. The print I’m posting today is a case in point. This was intended to be
the first plate of a multi-plate photo lithograph from a drawing of a dandelion.
It has problems ( so many things to
learn with every new process) that I
never actually made the other plates- but I actually like its fragility which
is right for the subject. Perhaps you wouldn’t immediately recognise it as a dandelion-
but it is.

A painting day print 2
Today’s print is another monoprint while painting. Today I
printed over the paper I’d daubed with one of those rollers that you can buy
for kids which comes with shapes on it ( stars)
Surprised how much I like this- but then I simply love colour.

A painting day print 1
I think of myself as a painter print maker- which means that
some days I simply don’t ‘print’ in so much as I don’t do anything formal.
Today was one of those days, however I often end up messing about with left
over bits of paint and that’s what today’s
print is- a monoprint made on a piece of
paper where I had simply daubed paint from my brush, and grabbed a small print plate
I made ages ago.
Can’t say I like the raw colours- but it makes a better
print than I might have imagined it would.
